In partnership with Her Hope Initiative and The Drill, and hosted exclusively on the ABC4DE (African and Black Creatives for Development) platform, SEVHAGE announces the ‘Her Story’ Art & Story Challenge as part of the SEVHAGE Prizes 2025.
Who can enter
Young storytellers aged 10–21 (anywhere in Nigeria or the diaspora).
Theme
Create an original artwork that celebrates what it means to be a girl leading change. Accompany it with a short story/artist’s note reflecting on one or more of these ideas: leadership, resilience, education, equality, creativity.
Why enter
- ₦100,000 cash prize for the top entry (supported by Her Hope Initiative and The Drill).
- One-to-one mentorship with an experienced SEVHAGE author-editor.
- Showcase on SEVHAGE’s website and social media.
How to enter
- Artwork: submit as JPG/PNG/PDF (max 10MB).
- Story/Note: 150–300 words in a Word or PDF file.
- Email: send to sevhageprizes@gmail.com and copy to sevhage@gmail.com
- Subject line: [Your Name], GIRL OCTOBER 2025 (e.g., Sala Ogunsa, GIRL OCTOBER 2025).
- Include your full name, age, location, and a contact phone number in the email body.

Judging & permissions
Entries will be judged on originality, clarity of message, artistic quality, and relevance to the theme. By submitting, you confirm the work is your own and grant SEVHAGE and partners non-exclusive rights to feature your entry (with credit) across our platforms.
